PEHAL 2011


Street plays are satirical, critical and funny. With minimal props and a stress on action and sounds, they can be enacted in most unexpected place. This is a means of breaking the formal barriers and approaching the people directly and creating an awareness of events around them, calling them to change what they believe are the social ailments. If you have it in you, what it takes to be the so called ‘activists’, put on your entries……and get ready for the show off…

Rules and Regulations

1.      Only group participation is allowed on behalf of the college. A group may have members of any college.
2.      The number of participants should not be more than FIVE (5).
3.      The participants must have a valid college ID.
4.      The theme will be given 15 minutes prior to the performance.
5.      Duration of the play should be between 5 and 10 minutes.
6.      The play should not sway away from the theme.
7.      The originality and innovation of the play would be appreciated.
8.      The medium of language should be Hindi, English or both.
9.      Judging will be based on the performance of the group.
10.  The play should give a clear message.
11.  The decision of the judges will be final.
12.  Teams will be disqualified if:- (i)There are common members in 2 or more groups. (ii)The team fails to respond within the time allotted.
13.  The coordinators have the authority to suspend/disqualify any team at any stage.
14.  Any external pressure will also disqualify the participating team immediately.
15.  Organizers have all the rights to change or modify rules and regulations, date and venue of the event with prior notice.
